Elton John’s song “Yellow Brick Road” has been going through my head. The lyrics are about giving up a life of opulence for one of simplicity and finding your inner value no matter what road you go down or up or around.

For the past couple of years, the golden bricks on my path were crumbling, holding me back from living my dreams. I’ve felt like Dorothy, lost in the Wizard of Oz, except she was lost with her companions, the brave, the heartfelt, and the thinker and I’ve been making my way towards the Emerald city alone and it hasn’t been easy.
.
I didn’t need a Wizard to bestow the knowledge that I can achieve my goals to lead me back home. I realized I had the answers within me all along. Home is where the heart is and the heart will take you home because the heart knows. The “Yellow Brick Road” is the map to your heart. Trust your heart and recognize the power it has to take you in new, exciting, and surprising directions.

In these times of the unknown, stay steadfast on your own path of BE-ing you, by loving yourself. For YOU are more than what you seem. Remain true to yourself, trust yourself, and just BE yourself. The yellow brick road is the road that is lit up for you to explore and you never know where the next turn in the road will take you.

I’ve been driving by these vibrant fields of small yellow flowers for weeks. Passing by the bright, golden canola flower fields will make you think about your yellow brick road. Travel your own yellow bricks and it will guide you to the choices that you need to make. Enjoy the journey and you’ll find your own magical world within no time and the infinite field of possibilities that you are.

My new favorite colour is yellow. 💛 The most luminous of all colours. It’s the color that bursts with happiness, evokes feelings of optimism, enlightenment, and sunshine. It captures our attention more than any other color. I bet it will catch your eye too.

Our life sure has been like a carousel ride. Sometimes we are up. Sometimes we are down. Sometimes it just feels like we are going around and around.
.
Each day of our lives, as the carousel turns, chances were taken and lessons learned. Caught up in problems that each day would bring, chances slipped away to catch the brass ring.
.
Whenever I felt my life slowing down, your gentle hand would push me around. Round and round we still go. Where it stands we don’t know.

Thank you for picking me up each time I fell and continuing to ride beside me on my carousel. I love you so much. Thank you for making my world go round. Xo.

Can you remember the first time you rode a merry-go-round? How exciting! The music was loud and upbeat, there were other people riding beside you, and the scenery kept changing by the second. The merry-go-round opened us to a new world of fun!

One thing that improved our life during the pandem

One thing that improved our life during the pandemic - Having GRACE! I’ve never been more proud of my family and the way we have come together during this difficult time. Understanding of our shortcomings, learning to be patient with each other, trying to figure out what the heck we are going to do everyday, sometimes with no motivation, but we pull through and we have so much to be thankful for. We are learning more and more about each other on a daily basis and it’s beautiful. The good, the bad and the ugly! At the end of the day, we have each other, we are at home and we are safe!

One song I can’t live without - I’m a country gal at heart. I love music and I collect records. Music is so powerful. Melodies lead to words, words lead to feelings, and those feelings turn into songs. Songs become the soundtrack of a moment. Currently on repeat is Chris Stapleton “Starting Over”.

One book you must read - Glennon Doyle “Untamed” One of the greatest books I have ever read. Simply WOW!
